¡Hola mis amigos! Estoy trabajando en mi español porque estamos Key West. ¿Comprendes?
Probably not so I’ll stop 😅
Anyway you can probably guess where we were, given either that you know Spanish, or by this pic:

Thanks for joining me today!
In my last post we were in the Everglades, or mosquito paradise as I thought of it. The Florida Keys were quite different!
Check it out:
Warm, sandy and sunny, the Keys felt like an endless vacation.
Great Restaurants
Seven Mile Grill
Cheap eats are hard to find in the Keys, but this waterfront eatery was reasonably priced and had fresh seafood.
These were the first conch bites (top right) we had tried and they were really good! Kind of like a mini crab cake crossed with a hush puppy.
The fish taco came excellently wrapped with individual tortillas in foil. Those were great too.
The other thing we got was calamari and it was okay. Wouldn’t recommend.
Alonzo’s Oyster Bar
We got a last minute reservation here only because every other restaurant was full. This was downtown Key West, and pretty much a tourist trap (Don’t blame us we were starving).
This seafood tower was expensive, and didn’t taste super fresh, but it was good as a charcuterie style.
Two Friends Patio Restaurant
This is a Key West classic, right off of the main strip. I don’t have any pictures because we again, we’re starving. I think we need to get better at eating on time 😅.
I would eat here again, al the food was good. I liked the crab cakes and crab legs a lot (I like crab).
Cuban Coffee Queen
Last but not least, the queen! We went here three separate times because it was so good.
“It” specifically being the cuban sandwiches. We had tried many many other Cuban sandwiches, none of which compared to the queen. If you like hot sandwiches, and want to try a Cuban, go here!!!
The coffee was good too lol.

And that was our adventure in the Florida Keys, only 90 miles from Cuba!

PS

“Yeah right under the chin there. Thanks.”

Loved the walk down memory lane. And ahhhh the Cubans - love a great Cuban sandwich. Glad you got to expel my old stomping grounds.
key west was a blast! Great job telling the story!
Where to next?
