Change of plans…

In my last post i mentioned that we would be going to Oregon. In fact, we were planning on spending all summer in the Pacific Northwest (I miss you Glacier!).

The reason for Oregon specifically was that we were going to a Fulltime Families event up there, in the second week of June.

But surprise! Not doing that.

Instead we will be spending our summer in Oklahoma City.

Why? You may ask.

Well our family has decided that we need to take a break for a bit. We have some important things we need to do (get our licenses and registration, make money, etc) and just slow down for a bit.

After all, we have been to a lot of places in a relatively short period of time.

This isn’t that uncommon for RVers. We know lots of them who take time off for work, or whatever.

This pause also had a double cause, but will take a little explaining.

My nana (my moms mom) owns a non-profit called Bethel Foundation. It strives to help struggling families and single parents by providing food, clothes, diapers, furniture, you name it.

They’ve been quite successful, last year they helped 114 thousand people receive food and clothing.

However, the office that they are currently in is completely full of donations. Literally from floor to ceiling. This is in addition to the cargo containers that they have (the ones semi trucks carry, also full).

Its not that they don’t give away stuff, it’s just that they get so much in and don’t have the capacity to handle it (not much more capacity anyway).

The solution here is to build a warehouse. This would free up the entire building, and it could actually be an office again. The problem with that though is that it costs a fortune. A fortune that Bethel doesn’t have.

And since my nana broke her hip last February, fundraising has been on pause.

And that’s where we come in!

One of my mother’s amazing hidden talents is sales, so she will be raising money for the warehouse.

I will be assisting her, and also making a promo video for Bethel (and maybe making a new website, which I love doing).

Lily will be helping Nana in the office, packing boxes, and organizing, and such.

And I think Dad‘s going to help Nana with financials or something. Not exactly sure.

So basically, we aren’t going to Oregon. We’re staying in Oklahoma City to assist my nana and Bethel. All summer.

Which means that I’ll have my birthday here, and oh I can’t wait to tell you what’s coming!

Anyway, since we won’t be moving around I probably won’t post as much. I’ll still keep y’all updated though ;)

Stay 😎
