Martens and Mushrooms Galore

Hey y’all! Since it’s been about a week, let me get you guys up to speed.

We left the Black Canyon area on Friday and headed to Crested Butte along a narrow highway.

Getting the rig into a spot was difficult, but we managed to do it (in the rain). This is our site:

One of the trails on this land was quite gorgeous and we found a TON of mushrooms! Who would have thought that Colorado is the second best place to go in the country for mushrooms?

So, so many.

Turns out those cute red ones with spots will cause you to hallucinate. Turns out Mario just had one too many mushrooms.

While taking some pics I heard some sort of animals fighting in the woods, maybe fifty feet from me. I thought at first they were weasels but turns out they were little pine martens (three of them!). They were cute when they weren’t fighting :).

And I can’t forget the flowers of the day;

So is anyone else tempted to try a Mario mushroom? Just me?
