Moose and Mountains

One day was not enough to explore our third national park. From hiking the lakes to watching the sunset over the mountains, we were at Rocky Mountain NP a full two days and still didn’t see everything.
Day one:
Most of this day was spent driving and scouting out the park. Feeling the cool high altitude air was very refreshing. We hiked around Bear Lake, and later Lily Lake (no Kayla lake)
I also saw my first moose! He was munching in the tall grass, probably 150 feet away from where we were. Although I don’t have a picture, we also saw a fox on our way home.

Day two:
We did more hiking than the day before. One was a lake hike, where we saw Nymph Lake (the one with the lilies) and Dream Lake, which was indeed dreamy. We also passed the Continental Divide.
We saw four more moose, lots of elk, and two more foxes. The sunset was gorgeous too.
Even though the rangers were mask nazis, this really was a beautiful park and we had a lot of fun.
This was our last adventure in Colorado, and now we’re heading to our next stop: Yellowstone National Park.
Hope to see y’all next time,
-R.D.
PS
So I don’t have a picture of Bear but I have a great story. So my parents were on walk- and had him off leas, cause i mean there was nobody there. When they were on the way back, Bear suddenly barks and starts running. Out of nowhere comes this huge beast, a moose! Even though Bear is a hundredth his size, he chases this poor moose all the way down the road! We’re hoping he never does that again lol.
