Washington in All Its Glory

Hey y'all! I last left off on our travels when we were in the Grand Tetons, and for the last few weeks we've been touring around Washington!

Forks

Our first stop was a little boondocking spot in Olympic National Park, close to the town Forks, where the series Twilight was set! While I'm not a super-fan-vampire-goth-girl or anything, it was fun to watch them and see the town too.

Our stops included:

Rialto Beach,

The Hoh rainforest,

Flattery Point (aka the most northwestern tip of Washington),

and Hurricane Ridge!

Victoria

It was our very first time in Canada, and the experience was totally awesome! So glad we could make it ☺️

Mount Rainier

While we could only spend a few days here, we made the most of it!

On our first hike, Lily and Mom both sprained their ankles, pretty badly too, so we were unfortunately unable to do any more hikes, but we drove up to the visitor's center and saw the mountain cloud free!

The Gorge

So yeah, there's a town here called George, Washington. Somebody had to do it I suppose 😂. It's home to one of the most sought after concert venues, called The Gorge.

Lots of big name artist and bands have performed here, most notably Dave Matthew's Band. However we went to go see a family favorite, The Lumineers!

The concert started at 7:30, but we wanted to get there early to hang with friends, get some food, and chill, so we left at 4. We thought we'd have too much time and would be bored, but alas things don't always go as planned.

See, management made a bit of an error in that they were letting in two concerts at the same time. There's a campground for RVs and they were letting in the people for the next day's concert, so we literally sat in traffic for 3 hours.

Finally, we made it to the campground and bought the second-to-last shuttle ticket. After another hour of security, check in, merch, and food, we finally found our friends and sat down at 8:30.

Being in the car for so long (baking in the sun) I got a headache. And then the smoke in the air (outdoor concert, yk) made it way worse. So I didn't end up having that great of a time. But it's okay! Can't win 'em all.

And that was our last stop in Washington! Next up, Oregon, and some rodeo fun...
